I want to personaly invite all the other region's AI/CMC racers to come join us at this event. In the past we have had dozens of RM folks, GL folks, and some Central folks. This event is nomally our largest event of the year with 20-25 CMC cars. AI has been doing very well here this year and should see larger than normal fields (10-15?). The Texas bunch always looks forward to this event not only for the track, but also for the out of region attendance.
And to add to all that - It's the NASA Texas Summer Shootout! For the past few years we have run a Nationals style format that results in a 40 minute Championship race. This race will determin who the Summer Shootout Champ is.
If you have always wanted to race at a National Championship race but can't take the 7 days off to do it, The Summer Shootout is the next best option. The CMC car count is pretty much always higher than at Nationals, and all that fun is packaged into a single weekend.

Post up if you plan to be there.

Not too late to sign up and get ready for the Summer Shootout at Hallett. For those of you that have forgotten or have been living under rocks, the Hallett Summer Shootout features a very cool format:
Four races
Race 1 standing start grid based on qual
Races 2 and 3 flying starts inverted grid
Race 4 is the Summer Shootout, winner take all! Its a standing start race with the grid set based on cumulative points from races 1-3.

There is a crossover event between the Midwest and Great Lakes the same weekend so a lot of guys are going for a regional championship and don't want to give up the points. I can't blame them. I cant afford Hallett but I am doing it anyway! Looking forward to seeing everyone after missing the event two years in a row.
