When they start to swallow my fingernail and start working its way towards the edge of the rotor, I prefer to err on the side of caution, and make a rotor change BEFORE the spitting occurs. That's similar to how I handle "life-ing" out rotors. FWIW, I've run cutdown Cobra rotors (Brembo a...

Adam.. Yes, I'm very familiar with heat check marks.. no concern there. When they start to swallow my fingernail and start working its way towards the edge of the rotor, I prefer to err on the side of caution, and make a rotor change BEFORE the spitting occurs. Because I know it will happen soon the...

It was the same for me as Micheal on first day.
And I also did/do the exact same thing (feel em with the fingernail test, and toss em before they blow).
So yes, they would be splitting after the second weekend of use.

Don- Yes, all the normal/thorough steps were taken (cooling ducts to the center of the hat avoiding surface of the rotors, heat cycled the rotors, ect.). I think it's just a function of the poor quality imported metals more than anything else. I still do use a set of those run of the mill 13" r...

Yup, I was originally thinking long tubes for sure, but was pleasantly surprised. I did try to keep all the rotating mass as light as possible (lightest wheels, lighter/smaller tire (255 as opposed to the 275), stock solid rear rotors, alum. driveshaft, ect. There has been some variation from the PI...

Mark- I'm in agreement with your statement (bigger piping is worse when looking for tq. esp. on a small displacement engine).
However, before I changed my pipe size, what I found to help w/ my tq number, was moving the "X" in my primary piping closer to the front/engine side.

Hey Guys- My name is Chris Ferraro. I live in the Charleston, SC area (NASA SE region). I'm married with one child (3yr old girl). Pony cars have always been a part of my car ownership/passion since my very first car (wow, that was back in 1985! jeez..). So, when I came across the CMC series, it was...
