Re: 2019 RCR #8

what if we just allow ram air? Make 6.21.5 simply state that any air filter or air filter assembly and ducting upstream of the TB/Carb may be used. Isnt that the easiest to police? Is this reverse psychology? Why would we even consider allowing people to spend $250-500 on an aftermarket ram air kit...

Re: 2019 RCR #8

I understand your intent but why bother and just close the loophole since nobody agrees on what constitutes ram air (even the directors disagree)? Clearly some think it's an advantage to remove their headlight and run a duct to the filter. That seems to go against the original intent of stock appear...

Re: 2019 RCR #8

Good idea. Might be easier to change 6.21.5 to "Air filter installations intentionally designed to create, or appear to create a cold air or ram air effect are not allowed, even if they were OEM stock" Or change 6.9.2 to remove the mesh covered cooling duct opening. 6.9.2 All cars must hav...

Re: 2019 RCR #7

If it isn't deleted I would suggest allowing the Ford 8.8" reared. It's already legal for the Fords and it's available as a bolt in for F-body. 6.29.2 Both GM and Ford cars may also use a Ford 9”, GM 12 bolt, or Dana 44 rear axle housing, but the housing must maintain both the exact OEM suspens...

Re: Tech Bulletin request - Dollar value increase across the board

Cost increases I believe is based on the current cost of the baseline part. Such as if a stoptech caliper goes up then the caliper limit would go up accordingly. This isn't the Fed and having costs increase a mandated 2% a year. :D Again, let's please take out the wing rule and leave that to America...

Re: Tech Bulletin request - Dollar value increase across the board

The shock value has gone up. Crazy that in a budget series I can spend $2k on shocks, $2k on brakes, and $700 for a wing before I even start thinking about anything else. The rear spoiler rule I still think is one of the worst rules in our series as I believe they have no place in our type of series.

Re: 2017 CMC Nats Suggestion -Mem Day at COTA

Well I thought someone might be interested in coming to race at COTA on Memorial Day and have our own CMC Nats race. In case anyone is considering it the registration opens tomorrow at noon central.

2017 CMC Nats Suggestion -Mem Day at COTA

Throwing this out there to the rest of the country but NASA Texas is racing at COTA on Memorial Day for 2017. Should be a decent bucket list track, not on the coast, and probably a decent chance at having over 30 CMC cars attend. Would love to have as many out of state cars come to Texas for some gr...

Re: 2016 Rules Directors Cut

Yeah-better make sure you have a good AFR on the car both on the dyno and on the track. If you need one I can send you mine to use. Interesting that on all the dyno charts they showed there wasn't one that included an A/F ratio. Go to the dyno and test your car as it is then add the parts while the ...

Re: 2016 Rules Directors Cut

Should you guys just be able to put a K&N on it and get 15-30 extra? My point is instead of using some magazine trying to sell something provide us with actual results. I'll use the 5.3 as an example. Instead of using other peoples swaps and dyno's Bob Denton swapped a 5.3 into his race car to g...
